Skin boosters rejuvenate the skin by creating an even and well-rounded appearance. Skin boosters come in many brands, but it is composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found within the body. Most skin lotions include a topical layer of Hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and keep it healthy.
Skin boosters are extremely common in Asia and commonly called the “水光针” which translates to “water bright injections.”(1). Skin boosters are soft on the skin serving to lift and hydrate it. The purpose of skin boosters are to slow down and reverse the skin aging process. As we age, hyaluronic acid, collagen and other naturally anti-aging chemicals diminish causing the skin to wrinkle. Skin boosters helps maintain young, bright and plump skin.
Skin Booster Applications
Hyaluronic acid is applied through microinjections. It can be applied with a small needle or an injector gun. Some doctors prefer to use a small needle to maintain more clinical control throughout the procedure. Other doctors use the injector gun. However, the injector gun is not as promising as the manuel application (2).
